WELCOME TO YOUR SPACE; A SPACE TO BE AND CONNECT.
@projecttalkcic & @sunflower_spc_
Just as a sunflower grows towards sunlight in order to bloom, we can turn towards others and ourselves to find lightness.
Sunflowers truly should be the symbol of light and hope for those living through dark times.
1. We all need a space to be with ourselves, life can be tough and lonely but is also beautiful. Use this space to pause and check in with yourself, talk words of self compassion that you derserve because you are loved and strong. We also need to stand in solidarity with others around us, so pause and think how can you shine light into someone you know who may be struggling today?
2. Connect with other sunflowers and stand in solidarity side by side in a beautiful sunflower field by using the hashtag:
#IAMASUNFLOWERSTUDENT and tag @projecttalkcic /or with a pic like below because together we can shine some light into someone's day. (Photo credit sunflower_spc_)
LOO - THE FOUNDER'S STORY
This woman's story is an inspiring one, after experiencing a mental breakdown whilst studying Law at the University of Bristol and subsequently trying to take her own life she went onto completely re-evaluate her life. She started to build a deeper and richer connection with herself and others. Up until this stage of reflection, she had not realised the importance of both a community and creative approach to one's overall wellbeing. It came to light that she needed to stand up and use her creative voice within the mental health landscape; a true creativist!
Loo became a Time to Change Champion, a certified Mental Health First Aider and a trained Mental Health Recovery Worker & Wellbeing Tutor. She also started to live life on the road in her campervan; big, blue and beautiful Vivi. Van life truly reinvented what her mental health and depression looks like for her.
Bristol based Loo continues to balance being a mental health professional alongside shining light for suicide prevention through her activism and advocacy.

SUNFLOWER SUICIDE PREVENTION COLLECTIVE:
We are a community organisation who uses community and creativity to shine some light into someone’s day.
The collective will run alongside the seasons. This is also to reflect the way mental health is all about planting small seeds, the need for rest, and there being a time for us to bloom in life. Each season will have focused creative projects for the community. The community is not to be geographically based, using both online and offline to have as far reaching impact as possible.
