ABOUT US

OUR WORK

Developer

Our Vision is for PROJECT:TALK become a nationally recognised, economically sustainable and highly effective solution for organisations who wish to support mental fitness, including the mental health and wellbeing, of their community.

From schools, to University students, from businesses to the general public, we seek to harness the power of individuals to draw communities together to revitalise mental health, inspire change and better support each other.

Mental Fitness is about togetherness. Only then can we thrive.

We center our work around four central principals. A community must be inspired, empowered and supported to nurture each one of these in order to truly reap the benefits of mental fitness:

AWARE

Individuals must be aware of their own minds and of the thoughts, feelings and emotions of those around them. This requires education, knowledge and understanding alongside open communication and a lack of stigma.

TOOLS TO:TALK Medical Curriculum Manager

I believe in the amazing power of conversation, and how it can be used to change the way we view mental health, and to care for ourselves and each other. We should all be able to feel safe and comfortable being ourselves, talking about struggles, and receiving help. I’m in this to help get those conversations going.

CHLOË

Operations and Outreach Manager

I am so passionate about inclusion. I believe seizing opportunity comes easier to some than others; no matter who you are, I feel everyone should experience possibility equally. Mental fitness holds a huge amount of responsibility in our achievements, and PROJECT:TALK is the perfect platform to engage with this.

LUCY

Social Media & Marketing

I got involved with PROJECT:TALK as I’m passionate about people dropping the stigma surrounding mental health and believe we all should work on our mental fitness just as we would our physical fitness. It is so important we feel empowered to talk about our bad days as well as our good ones, and I believe the work we are doing can really make an impact in giving people the skills to have these conversations

PROJECT:TALK is a rewarding platform to be part of since it encourages people to engage with their mental fitness. The importance of conversation has never been so important, so I hope the work we are doing can enable people to look out for themselves and support each other

XAV

Editor & Media Manager

Paradoxically, the age of the internet has caused many of us to be less connected than ever before. Image is everything, and it’s easier than ever to forget that all of us have highs and lows, all of us get lonely, and – most importantly – all of us have mental health. Through PROJECT:TALK, I hope that we all can move away from chat, and get one step closer to conversation.

SAM

Peer Support Scheme Manager

When I joined PROJECT:TALK last year, it was at a time when government restrictions were making the lives of many within our community extremely difficult. I was eager to find an outlet to channel my feelings of despair, into positive action. PROJECT:TALK provided the perfect platform for me to do this. Their mission to change the way we view mental health, and facilitate a dialogue about it, resonated with me deeply.

TIME TO:TALK Manager

As a society, we are finally starting to open up and talk about our mental health and I wanted to be involved in driving the conversation forward. PROJECT:TALK is the perfect organisation for this as it encourages a proactive approach to mental fitness to support communities and establish meaningful conversation.
